A Modern Country House
Old and new, modern and country, rustic and contemporary -- photos today from a farmhouse turned into an impressive modern country space by VIVA VIDA.
Rustic and industrial elements add a contemporary twist to traditional country decorating materials such as wood, iron and nature-inspired prints and objects.
A unique combination of traditional country decor with modern trends give this home a rather cool urban vibe.
Original details such as the ladder’s knitted parts and (re) use of old materials.
I think this sectional is really interesting, love the different colors and patterns- the whole "feel" is comfortable, cool, spacious yet homey.
Notice the little wall shelves that are golding books- this is a great idea. Tree stops as coffee tables- easy! (You could even paint them white for a shabby chic style, or any other color for that matter)
I'm a big fan of the "all different chairs" concept at a table....it's kind of the way my mind works--- all over the place. Matchy matchy just isn't me.
Mix it up even more and throw in a bench- love it!
Fabulous and eclectic tile mix-- yet it all works!
Polished, smooth, concrete floors and massive neutral walls give all the creative and eclectic touches the balance that makes it all work.
Fantastic brick bathroom counter, like the under-cubbies.
This is interesting (and cheap)-- exposed, raw wood walls- ha, i'd let the kids write all over these ones!
These lights-- so simple and so creative.
Ok-- it just keeps getting better... I need a huge barn to renovate-- this would be my fantasy.
Look at the mural-- on this one. Just so creative!
